Love motivates – early morning holy hours

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.”  (Mark 1:35)

Oh, how these words of Sacred Scripture run through my mind and heart as the alarm goes off, and I struggle to get out of bed to head off to Adoration.  “But did you get up this early, Jesus?” I playfully ask.  I try hard to have love motivate me to do early morning Adoration—love for Jesus and souls.  On the drive over to the chapel, it is very dark out and nearly everyone is asleep.  It’s a reminder of how our souls can often be.  We need the light of the Son to brighten our path and wake us from the slumber of sin, especially during these uncertain times.  These thoughts keep me going, very early in the morning, while it is still dark, seeking that Light and Peace that we can only find in Jesus Christ.
