There will be situations when you know ahead of time you will not be able to fulfill your adoration hour. If you have a co-adorer at your holy hour, please confirm with them they intend to be at the chapel on the day you are not able to adore. Please do not assume your co-adorers are planning on attending.They may be making the same assumption concerning you.
If your co-adorer plans to be there, then there’s no need to request a substitute.
If you don’t have a co-adorer or they are not able to adore on the day you’ll be away, you’ll need to find someone to substitute for you. You may want to ask a family member or friend to substitute for you. Additionally, we have a very active group of adorers who are always anxious to substitute when needed.
If you need help finding a sub, the WeAdoreHim software can help to automate this process.
You can request a substitute through the software in a couple of different ways:
1. From your Dashboard Page
Click the WeAdoreHim Your Dashboard tab in OneHourWithJesus.org. Then, log into your WeAdoreHim Dashboard page to view your adoration commitments. Next to each upcoming adoration date is a “Request Substitute” button which you can use to request a substitute for that date.
2. From a Commitment Reminder Notification
If you configure your adoration commitment with reminder notification, and if the reminder notification is sent far enough in advance for the system to find a substitute, you can request a sub via the reminder notification in the following ways:
- Email: A link is included to request a substitute.
- Text message: The adorer can respond with sub to request a substitute.
- Phone call: The adorer can press 1 to request a substitute.
Next Step:
Once you’ve submitted your request for a substitute, the system will begin the process of matching your request with an available substitute adorer. You will be notified when your request has been satisfied. You can also see the status of your request on your dashboard.
If time is drawing near to your adoration day and your request has not yet been fulfilled, you can check with the adorers before and after your holy hour to see if they are willing to stay an extra hour or split the extra holy hour. You can also try swapping with another adorer who is scheduled at the same holy hour on a different day of the week.
If you are unable to find a substitute, please contact your hourly captain for assistance. If you are unable to reach your hourly captain, contact the Adoration Committee at adoration@stcharlesbloomington.org or 812-269-5333 and they will make special arrangements.
Once you have a sub:
- Please remind them to sign in as a Substitute on the kiosk in the chapel.
- If you are a night-time adorer, please make sure your substitute has a cardkey. If they don’t have a cardkey, ask them to request one from the committee. If there isn’t time or this is a one-time situation, feel free to loan them your cardkey. Remember it’s your responsibility to get the cardkey back before your next scheduled holy hour. Also give them instructions for entering the church if applicable.
